A current, crawlable snapshot
At , the public snapshot contained 2,115 active events: 1,870 in Canada and 245 across monitored European countries. These are satellite-derived fire events at different confidence levels, not a list of confirmed wildfires.
The map combines detections from public Earth-observation sources and shows source, observation time, confidence and relevant environmental context. Automatic processing is capped below the human-confirmed level.
How to read the map
Select an event to inspect its evidence and timestamps. A hotspot can be caused by wildfire, agricultural burning or industrial heat. OrbiVigil preserves that uncertainty rather than turning every thermal signal into an alarm.
